Karl J. Gruse joined the Grasso Law Firm in 2021. He has extensive experience defending clients in matters such as automobile accidents, large-scale construction defect actions, premises liability claims, products liability cases, class action toxic tort litigation, medical malpractice, wrongful death, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, municipal defense actions, and the defense of educational institutions.
Mr. Gruse has earned a reputation for achieving successful results on behalf of his clients, including defense verdicts in a commercial mold infestation case concerning alleged respiratory and glandular injuries, and a products liability case concerning a traumatic brain injury by the user of in-line roller skates. He also achieved a directed verdict in a premises liability trial, and is regularly called upon to represent major residential and commercial construction companies in civil personal injury and construction defect litigation.
Born and raised in Arizona, Mr. Gruse earned undergraduate degrees in English and Political Science from Arizona State University before attending Drake Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. After law school, Mr. Gruse returned to Arizona, where over the next twenty years, he built his practice representing defendants in civil litigation in courts across the state of Arizona and the Court of Appeals.
Mr. Gruse is AV®-rated (the highest possible rating for legal ability and ethics) by Martindale-Hubbell, the oldest and most prestigious lawyer rating service in the United States. In 2014, he was selected for inclusion on Arizona’s list of Top Lawyers.
In his free time, Mr. Gruse enjoys spending time with his wife, their two children, and their two dogs. He enjoys visiting our National Parks, traveling, bicycling, hiking, and cheering on his Sun Devils.
